August Registration Rally 2014 Details

All parents and girls interested in taking part in Girls Scouts during the upcoming 2014-15 school year, please join us at our Annual August Registration Rally!  If you want to join the Singapore Girl Scouts for an exciting year of fun and activities, you MUST attend this rally to register. Please check out the Registration FAQ page for information on the registration process.

 When:    Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
   Schedule:  
     1:00 PM to 1:45 PM  Daisies (KG & Grade 1)
     1:45 PM to 2:30 PM  Brownies (Grades 2 & 3)
     2:30 PM to 3:15 PM  Juniors (Grades 4 & 5)
     3:15 PM to 4:00 PM  Cadettes, Seniors & Ambassadors (Grades 6 through 12)

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are the parent of multiple girls registering in different age groups, you must attend the appropriate registration time slot for each girl.

Registration Process
Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the appropriate age group time slot for your daughter.  Each session will begin promptly on time and kicks off with an address by the Overseas Management Team and a walk through of the on-site registration process.  You don't want to miss this!

During registration, you will be guided through several stations to match with a Troop, fill out the appropriate forms, make payment, and purchase uniforms, books & insignia (if needed).  Don't worry, there will be many volunteers to help you along the way.  And, there will be entertainment, crafts and refreshments provided to keep young girls and siblings entertained so parents can complete the registration process with fewer distractions.

Before You Come
There are a few things you can do beforehand that will ensure a faster and easier registration for you and your daughter(s).
  1. Make sure you bring adequate cash (approximately $100 Singapore Dollars per girl) or your cheque book to pay for the registration fees and uniforms (if needed). We're sorry, but Girl Scouts - Singpapore cannot accept credit cards of any type.
  2. Please read the Registration Policy. We do our best to ensure every girl is matched with a Troop, but unfortunately there are no guarantees everyone will be placed during the Registration Rally.
  3. If you pre-fill your cheque, please make sure it is filled in properly, crossed and made payable to "Girl Scouts (Singapore)". If you are unsure of how to properly fill out a Singapore cheque, <click here>, or just bring your cheque book and we'll help you.
  4. Please consider downloading, printing and pre-filling the registration forms and bringing them with you to the Registration Rally.  This is not required, we will have plenty of paper forms on hand.  However it will definitely speed things up for you.  For registration, you will need to complete the following forms:
NOTE:  Please leave all spaces for "Troop Number" or "Troop Leader" blank at this time.

Consider Becoming a Leader!
At the Rally, you may be asked to volunteer as a Troop Leader. Why?  Because Singapore is a transient place and the expat community here has quite high turnover compared to other locations.  Every year we lose several dedicated Troop Leaders and need to replace them to ensure there are enough Troops for girls who want to participate.  Most Leaders get involved in Girl Scouts for their own daughter - but end up getting more out of the experience than they ever imagined. Do it.
